In addition to the reactive and planned maintenance work, Lanes is a framework supplier for LU, frequently winning contracts for specific rail and underground projects. Again, this may include any of a wide range of disciplines across track and premises environments.
Recently, for instance, we undertook the upgrade and complete refurbishment of the signal cabin at Barking. This six-month, £550k scheme involved transforming the redundant cabin into fully functioning staff accommodation, including re-roofing, asbestos removal, major internal alterations, new mess facilities, washrooms and all associated mechanical and electrical installations.
Lanes was awarded a £750k contract for LU track drainage rehabilitation beginning in July 2011. This challenging, fixed price project to improve defective LU drainage assets is scheduled for completion in December 2011. It involves repair and refurbishment of track drainage catchpits, along with rehabilitation and upgrading defective pipework across the Underground network.
Our planned project work includes:
Brickwork and concrete repairs to buildings and structures
- Premises refurbishment including platform nosings, tactile flooring, wall tiling, painting and steelwork repairs
- Trackside security fencing and gates
- Boswick gate replacement
- Demolition activities (including hydro techniques)
- Asbestos removal
- Track drainage installations and maintenance (inc HPJ)
- Water seepage grouting and management
- Station deep cleans
- Washroom and staffroom facilities (refurbishment and refits)
- Roofing works (including gutter and downpipe replacements)
- Installation of CMS, conduits, trunking and cable management
- Bridge and structure painting
