Health and safety has always been a top priority at Lanes. And a company-wide health and safety culture, which begins at the very top with the board of directors and reaches out to every level, at every depot and in every department, is a testament to that.

Our approach is to exceed all mandatory standards so that our clients and staff know that their health and safety is paramount at all times. In fact, we feel strongly that this is one of the reasons for our success and standing in the industry. With an excellent health and safety track record, the Lanes Group is welcomed as a partner and supplier by other contractors and by direct clients.
We’ve passed independent audits from the likes of Achilles UDVB, Safe Contractor and Linkup — all of which include rigorous inspections and a major focus on H&S — with flying colours. And, having gained RoSPA awards each year since we first entered in 2009, our trophy cabinet now boasts a Silver (2009) and three Golds (2010, 2011 and 2012). We hope to carry on adding to that collection.
We were finalists in the Construction News awards 2012 and we won five UKSTT trophies in three years — all of which require a strong health and safety application. Our Point of Works risk assessment was developed in house and has been hailed as ‘revolutionary’ thanks to its use of a simple, colour-coded, traffic light system, which makes it easy to use for staff, at all levels. On top of that, our highly commended Safe System of Work packs are placed in each and every operational Lanes’ vehicle.
We could go on, but you get the idea. When you deal with the Lanes Group, you know that the highest standard of health and safety is a given.
