All types of inspections
Lanes has the skilled manpower and sophisticated CCTV technology to inspect all manner of sewer chambers, manholes, tanks and vessels, whether it’s for maintenance or to identify decay, structural defects or water ingress or egress. Remember that noxious gases may be present in sewer chambers, so this is always best undertaken by experts, like Lanes, under strict safety conditions.
We have the Panoramo technology
At Lanes, we’ve invested in the very latest CCTV technology — the Panoramo SI — which gives incredibly detailed and impressive inspection reports and data to suit all common data interfaces. Designed to inspect chambers or tanks of 300mm diameter and above, the Panoramo SI is no ordinary pan-and-tilt camera. It’s a 3D Optoscanner, which uses two high-res, digital cameras with distortion-free, wide-angle lenses to scan the whole interior in just a few seconds in a single vertical pass through the chamber.
Remarkable reporting
It’s the visual reporting which makes Panoramo so revolutionary. Instead of recording a video image, the Panoramo SI takes thousands of photos, which the software joins together to give a complete, 360º, 3D view. Whenever you want to view the recorded footage, you simply navigate your way around using your PC and mouse to view any areas or angles you choose, rather than having to look only at the sections the CCTV operator chose to record. You can move freely, without any limitations: stop in any position, pan 360º, zoom, take snapshots, even look to the rear. It’s an all-round view. At the same time, you can generate an ‘opened’ or ‘unfolded’ view of the manhole; perfect for a rapid overview of the structure’s condition and an opportunity to take any necessary measurements.

Man-entry
Of course, when required, Lanes’ operatives are also able to carry out manual inspections of 600mm x 600mm diameter or larger sewer chambers, to assess their structural integrity. We never compromise where health and safety is concerned, so strict procedures are followed to the letter. Only after all relevant risk assessments have been carried out is the task undertaken by specialist staff trained in Confined Space Operations and equipped with appropriate protective gear and equipment.
