No dig technology
Relining is also known as 'no-dig' or 'trenchless' technology, and that’s one of its major advantages over traditional excavation sewer and drain repair. With sewer relining, there is minimal surface and environmental disruption so less inconvenience all round. And all that means there are fewer health and safety risks too.
Helping the highways
Utility companies dig an average of 16,727* trenches each year for each local authority. That leaves a huge amount of scarring which, in the longer term, can result in potholes and general deterioration of the road surface. Repairing sewers and drains by relining them, instead of digging them up, saves the highway from damage, and so saves money on road repairs in the long run.
Fast
Repairing sewers or drains by relining them is fast too. Lanes has a specialist division which carries out reline repairs, day-in, day-out, and can mobilise expert reline crews to deal with emergency sewer relining extra quickly. In fact we’re so confident of our service that we guarantee a two-day turnaround for most emergencies.
From A to Z
Lanes is widely acknowledged as an industry leader in this technology and, as a result, has carried out many pioneering sewer reline projects. Working on pipes, drains, sewers and culverts ranging from 100mm in diameter, right up to a whopping 2500mm, Lanes has notched up reline after successful reline.
In demand
It's little wonder, then, that our sewer relining services are in demand across the country; completing one-off rehabilitation projects for private clients or managing and implementing major sewer renovation schemes across whole areas involving thousands of metres of pipelines, either directly for water and wastewater utility companies or through civil engineering consortia.
Passion
We are lucky enough to be passionate about what we do, so you’ll find that our reline teams are enthusiastic and committed to getting it absolutely right. If it’s a tricky proposition, so much the better! Our specialist reline team positively relishes taking on challenging projects which push the boundaries of the technology, both for the benefit of clients, and the industry as a whole.
Your guarantee
Relining work is guaranteed for a minimum of 50 years but, with a safety factor of 2 built into the design criteria, it should last much longer — in some cases up to 100 years.
