Blocked highway culvert

A blocked concrete culvert on the A55 dual carriageway near Conwy, North Wales prompted an emergency response from Lanes Group. The blocked culvert stopped rain water draining properly, so surface water was collecting on the main carriageway of the A55.

Using a powerful 26 tonne suction unit, Lanes engineers worked to clear 60 tonnes of silt, stones and rocks that had been washed down from a nearby hill after a period of heavy rain.
