Drainage specialist maintains strong position in Top Track 250

Lanes Group plc has maintained its strong showing in a list of the UK’s top 250 mid-market private companies.

The drainage, utilities, and asset maintenance specialist ranks 128^th in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250.

The league table, published in the Sunday Times on 7^th October 2018, identifies the fastest-growing and most successful mid-market companies in the UK.

Last year, Lanes Group, the UK’s largest independent drainage specialist, ranked at 121. It entered the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 in 2016.

Lanes Group is the sole wastewater network services maintenance partner for Thames Water. In 2018, Thames Water awarded Lanes with substantial new contracts to provide additional specialist services, including water treatment plant cleaning, pumping station cleaning, wet well emptying, and tankering.

Lanes Group also won a major new contract to provide wet well cleaning for Northumbrian Water, and continued to deepen its relationships with other water utility providers, including Severn Trent Water and Anglian Water, winning new packages of work.

The company owns Arlo Group, which operates AQS Environmental Solutions, a leading drainage and industrial cleaning specialist in Ireland, and drainage company UKDN Waterflow (LG) Ltd.

Key growth sectors for the business during 2018 have included highways, rail, energy, local government, construction, and housing.

Lanes Group is recognised for its innovation, investment in the most advanced specialist equipment, and strong focus on training and safety.

It won the Water Industry Achievement Safety and Wellbeing Award in 2018 and was a finalist in two other categories. Lanes holds a RoSPA Gold Medal after winning its 9^th consecutive RoSPA Gold Award.
