Lanes wins double recognition in Construction News Awards

Lanes Group has been named as a finalist in two categories in the prestigious Construction News Awards 2017.

The company has been shortlisted for the Specialist Contractor Award, while its utilities division has been shortlisted for the Health and Safety Excellence Award.

The company has won significant new contracts in the rail, highways and utilities sectors, based on its investment in the most modern equipment, plus commitment to skills training and health and safety.

Lanes Group Managing Director Wayne Earnshaw said: “Being finalists for two Construction News awards is fantastic news for us and for all our teams who work so hard for our customers every day.

“Being shortlisted for these award is an indication that we have a robust strategy, but we’re not complacent. We’re always striving to do more and do better, especially in terms of delivering brilliant customer service.”

Lanes Utilities is the wastewater network services partner for Thames Water. It provides sewer and drainage maintenance and rehabilitation services for Thames Water’s 15 million wastewater customers.

Lanes Utilities Director Andy Brierley said: “Health and safety has always been a huge priority for us and for Thames Water. It’s a mark of the care we have for our staff and customers.”

The division could point to a series of innovative health and safety initiatives during 2016, including the creation of a new feeling app, that supports the wellbeing of operational teams.

Lanes Utilities won the Construction News Health and Safety Excellence Award in 2013 and was also a finalist in 2015.
