Lanes on the rise in UK’s Top Track 250 companies

Drainage and water utilities specialist Lanes Group plc has been placed firmly in the top half of a list of the UK’s top 250 mid-market private companies.

The company ranks 101st in the Sunday Times Lloyds Bank Top Track 250, the highest position since it began appearing in the prestigious list in 2016.

The league table, published in the Sunday Times, identifies the fastest-growing and most successful mid-market companies in the UK.

Lanes submitted evidence about the company’s financial performance, service portfolio and business growth as part of the selection procedure for the Top Track 250 list.

Lanes Group Managing Director Wayne Earnshaw said: “We’re delighted that the safe and dedicated performance, and that of our professional teams, has been recognised in the Top Track 250.

“It is a reflection of the growth we achieved during 2019 and the additional trust put in us by many customers, such as Thames Water and Yorkshire Water, who took more services from us during the year.

“It also acknowledges the operational resilience and capability within the business that has stood us in good stead throughout the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020, which has been a very challenging year for all businesses.”

The company is continuing to work diligently to maintain COVID-19 secure environments and operating systems and to support staff and clients, and is confident it will emerge from the pandemic stronger and more resilient than ever, added Wayne Earnshaw.

Lanes demonstrated industry leading service delivery during 2019, maintaining long-term contracts with key clients, such as BAM Nuttall and Skanska, as well as developing new partnerships across the UK.

The company also led the drainage industry on key sustainability issues. In 2019, it launched the Unblocktober environmental campaign, encouraging householders and businesses to protect sewers, rivers and oceans by not disposing of fats and oils plus sanitary and cosmetic products down drains, through sinks and toilets.

Lanes provides a full range of specialist drainage services through a national network of 22 depots, supporting all sectors, including construction, transport, energy generation, highways, and manufacturing.

It also delivers wastewater maintenance services for many water companies, including Thames Water, Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Scottish Water, Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water.

Lanes is recognised for its innovation, investment in the most advanced specialist equipment, and strong focus on training and safety.
