Lanes wins key drainage repair role for Wrexham Council

Lanes Group has won a key role as a drainage services provider for Wrexham Borough Council.

The company, the largest independent drainage specialist in the UK, has been selected as one of the preferred suppliers for the council’s framework contract for drainage repairs to council housing and corporate buildings.

The contract is due to go live in August and will be managed by Lanes’ Chester depot, one of 23 operational centres across the UK.

Ian Clapham, Area Development Manager for Lanes in Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re very pleased to have been selected by Wrexham Borough Council to provide drainage services.

“We were able to emphasis the breadth of our expertise and the quality of our work.

“The total value of the drainage work identified is just under £500,000 over two years, and we would hope to be allocated a significant amount of that work during that period.

“Our success will depend on our ability to deliver consistently excellent service for the people of Wrexham, and that is what we are determined to do.”

Work covered by the framework contract includes drain jetting, drain repairs, manhole replacement, storm gully replacement and CCTV drainage surveying.

Maintaining drainage systems to a high standard saves money in the long-run as it ensures the assets do not fall into serious disrepair and prevents problems like flooding.
