At Preston it’s ‘dress up Friday’

Most people have heard of  ‘dress down Friday’, when those of us who have to dress smartly for work get to wear casual gear for the day.

But at Lanes for Drains Preston, staff members Kirsty and Steph decided they’d like to make their own rules in a fund-raising effort so have agreed on a ‘dress up Friday’ policy.

Says Kirsty: “We pick a colour out of an envelope every Thursday, and have to pay £1 to dress up in that colour the following day.” Steph adds: “Then we added a pyjama option too, so some weeks we do that — complete with dressing gowns and slippers!”

“You do get some strange looks travelling to work though!”

The Lanes Group’s chosen charity for 2012 is the Lymphoma Association, which should be a good deal better off, thanks to Kirsty and Steph.
