Matthew Todd – Commercial Director (Rail)
Matthew Todd is a Lanes Group director, responsible for our activity in the rail sector. Specifically, he oversees our work in the Network Rail region under the UKDN Waterflow banner, and is also in charge of Lanes’ hugely important Transport for London contract.
Matthew has been employed in the rail and construction industry for close to 30 years, working on a number of important high-profile building, highway and civil engineering projects. These include managing enabling contracts on the London Underground upgrade project at Victoria Station in 2010, and structuring a key commercial partnership between AccordMP and the London Borough of Harrow.
The projects he has overseen have ranged in value from £100,00 to £695 million, giving Matthew unparalleled experience in areas of general management, project delivery, problem solving and commercial direction.
He is also dedicated to providing guidance and pastoral care to colleagues, further underlining the indispensable role he plays at Lanes.
Beyond work, Matthew has been involved in volunteering at Bourne End Junior Sports Club, a charity-led children’s sports club, for more than 25 years, including serving as its current chairman. He is also passionate about classic cars, and is a regular rugby watcher – though he maintains that his own playing days are long over.
