Acclaim Health and Safety

Acclaim Accreditation is exclusive to Construction Line members and allows contractors, sub contractors and material suppliers to be assessed on health and safety as part of their Construction Line membership. Acclaim Accreditation is also a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement.

Achilles UVDB

Achilles supports over 200 large buying organisations and 32,000 suppliers across 6 different communities in the utilities sector. This level allows registration on the database and allows open tenders and opportunities to be seen. Achilles is the recognised accreditation scheme for the Utility sector and often features as a requirement in the procurement process.

Achilles Verify

The Achilles Verify level allows the storing of demonstrable evidence of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality capabilities which will save time and effort when pre-qualifying for Safety Critical tenders. Achilles Verify is critical to enable companies to work within the Utility sector. Lanes recognise that this scheme is fundamental to their success in this sector.

Altius Assured Vendor

Altius is not just a member of SSIP. Reflecting its commitment to the principles of mutual recognition, it proud to sit on the Forum Management Group (which is responsible for the day-to-day management of SSIP) and also to have developed, and now to be hosting, the SSIP Portal. Client specific portal for a large client supporting the retail sector.

British Safety Council

The British Safety Council is a government-regulated awarding body and, as such, must comply with a wide range of conditions set by the regulator so that rigour and consistency in the awarding of qualifications is maintained. The Council is only UK awarding body to offer a complete suite of health and safety qualifications from Entry Level to Level 6 in the national framework. Mandatory requirement for working on the Thames Water framework contract. Lanes joined this scheme in 2012.

BSI ISO 14001:2015 – Environment

SO 14001:2004 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified to. It does not state requirements for environmental performance, but maps out a framework that a company or organisation can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. It can be used by any organisation regardless of its activity or sector. Using ISO 14001:2004 can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved. BSI ISO 9001:2015 – Quality

BS OHSAS 18001:2007 – Occupational Health

BS OHSAS 18001 is a truly international standard which sets out the requirements for occupational health and safety management good practice for any size of organisation. BSI ISO 22301:2012 – Business Continuity

ISO 22301 is the international standard for business continuity management, and builds on the success of British Standard BS 25999 and other regional standards. It’s designed to protect business from potential disruption. This includes extreme weather, fire, flood, natural disaster, theft, IT outage, staff illness or terrorist attack. The ISO 22301 management system lets you identify threats relevant to business and the critical business functions they could impact. And it allows plans to be put n place ahead of time to ensure business doesn’t come to a standstill. Benefits: Identify and manage current and future threats to your business. Building Confidence

Achilles BuildingConfidence is an online community and accreditation standard used by 19 buyer organisations and over 1,500 suppliers in the UK construction sector. Launched in 2007 in collaboration with Lend Lease, Achilles BuildingConfidence is designed to meet the increasingly demanding legislative and risk management needs of construction clients. Achilles BuildingConfidence community is managed by an industry Steering Group compromising of members from across the sector to drive industry best practice. Lanes have been members of Building Confidence for over 3 years. Mainly associated with the construction industry this is a requirement for the procurement process of several major construction companies.

CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme)

CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK.

It is available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers. CHAS is a founder member and past Chair of Safety Schemes in Procurement. Lanes has been a member of CHAS for a number of years — an essential accreditation for working in Local Authority and Public Sector work.

CIRAS - Confidential Reporting for Safety

A health and safety platforms that allows staff members to raise concerns internally whilst remain confidential and anonymous, The CIRAS accreditation re-enforces the on-going commitment Lanes Group plc place in the wellbeing of their staff within the Rail industry. Construction Line

Construction Line is a national online database, the UK's largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants. Construction Line is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. Previously run by the Department of Industry, Lanes have been members of Constructionline for over a decade. Widely recognised by social housing, local authorities and other public sector bodies as a an accreditation scheme to be measured by.

Contractor Plus

ContractorPlus is a web enabled database that allows contractors to meet such demands and ensure total compliance to current health and safety legislation while gaining accreditation and more importantly new clients. Lanes have been members of this accreditation scheme for a number of years. Client specific requirements ensures that we are members of this scheme. SM&MS (Safety Management & Monitoring Services) is a national company working principally within the property sector and has secured long-term working partnerships with many blue-chip property companies. Lambert Smith Hampton is a national commercial property consultancy firm.

Cyber Essentials Scheme

Thanks to the Government and industry working together to produce a scheme designed to help UK organisations with cyber security to improve their defences and demonstrate their commitment to cyber security Lanes have registered themselves to show both our customers and our staff the never-ending commitment to security and reassuring them that cyber security is taken very seriously.

Eurosafe UK

The Eurosafe UK CDM Competent Scheme is a health and safety assessment exercise based on the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2007 and other workplace related legislation. Eurosafe UK is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. Another SSIP organisation that is client specific. Lanes embraces schemes such as this to promote good health and safety practise across our network of depots.

EXOR

Exor's services enable organisations to meet their compliance and procurement policies across a wide range of areas, including efficiency, economic development, regeneration and risk management. Since its launch Exor has become one of the leading independent providers of supply chain risk management solutions in the UK. Exor is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. Lanes has been members of Exor for a number of years as many Construction related clients require this as part of their procurement and supplier list process.

FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) (Bronze Accreditation)

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity in London and throughout the UK and beyond. FORS provides a quality and performance benchmark for van, lorry, mini-bus, coach and bus operators and allows access to a range of exclusive accreditation benefits. Accreditation of FORS can provide the tools to help you become safer, greener and more efficient. It is an excellent way to prove to existing clients your credentials as a high performing operator who adheres to high quality standards. Specifically aimed at improving driving standards in the London area, Lanes joined this scheme on securing a national framework utility contract in the region. Critical to the success of this contract is behavioural change for all operatives which includes promoting better driving skills. Adopting and sharing best practise is fundamental to its success.

National Association of Drainage Contractors

The National Association of Drainage Contractors is a network of certified drainage companies across the UK and Ireland. It aims to represent the views of the industry and acts as a forum for it's member to share advice and non-competitive information.

PICS Consortium

Created by leading safety professionals, PICS is a contractor management company with a focus of improving health and safety standards. PICS services help to prescreen suppliers, verify insurance and perform risk-based audits for contractors. The Lanes membership number for PICS is 45854.

Rail Alliance

The Rail Alliance is the sector's largest networking organisation for business to business events. This allows Lanes the opportunity to develop stronger relationships with other companies operating within in the industry.

RISQS Audit (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme)

A natural extension to the RISQS registration is the qualified audit process. This proves that standards are maintained throughout the organisation.

RISQS Membership (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme)

RISQS (formerly Achilles Link-up) is recognised as best practice in qualifying suppliers, and is used extensively by buyer organisations to manage risk and comply with legislation. RISQS helps to support organisations within the rail sector with the management of supply chain risk. RISQS is fundamental to the growth of the rail sector as a marketplace for Lanes Group. The management team recognise that it’s a mandatory requirement during the procurement process within the rail sector. Lanes has held RISQS (previously Link Up) accreditation for 14 years.

RoSPA (Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents)

RoSPA is a registered charity and has been at the heart of accident prevention in the UK and around the world for almost 100 years. Lanes Commitment to Health and Safety standards within our own company and the wider drainage marketplace ensures that we seek the best advise possible from perhaps the best known health and safety body in the UK. Yearly audits ensure that best practise is adhered to throughout the organisation.

Safe Contractor

Safe Contractor is the fastest growing health and safety accreditation scheme in the UK, with more than 200 major clients and over 18,000 contractor members. Registered members with the safe contractor scheme include clients and contractors from a wide range of professional disciplines working within a number of industry sectors. With its increasing membership and growing profile in the UK, the safe contractor scheme is now used by many large organisations as a way of obtaining competent contractors. Safe Contractor is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. One of the original Health and Safety accreditation schemes Lanes have been members for several years. A requirement for dealing with several public sector clients such as East Ayrshire Council and Norland Managed Services.

Safemark

Safemark has been developed to help home builders meet their obligation to only appoint competent contractors. The scheme is a pre-qualification assessment designed around the requirements of Appendix 4 of the Approved Code of Practice to CDM `07. Safemark is accredited to the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) standard, of which NHBC is a founder member. Another SSIP organisation that is client specific. Lanes embraces schemes such as this to promote good health and safety practise across our network of depots.

SMAS Worksafe Contractor

SMAS Worksafe Schemes offer a fast, efficient and cost effective way of demonstrating your Health and Safety competence and gaining a nationally recognised H&S certificate from a SSIP Member Scheme. SMAS is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. A client specific health and safety portal. Lanes understands and embraces the use of SSIP schemes for all our clients.

The Future Water Association Member

The Future Water Association (formerly The Society of British Water and Wastewater Industries, SBWWI) aims to shape the future of the water sector. Inspiring, supporting and leading the water supply chain it informs the sector about opportunities, the regulators about challenges and Government about policy direction. The FWA innovates through Water Dragons and delivering the 'Innovating the Future' roadmap; whilst influencing the supply chain to develop innovative solutions and new ways of thinking.

UKSTT (United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology)

The UKSTT (United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology) is a registered charity involved in the development and promotion of Trenchless techniques, sometimes termed No-Dig techniques, ideal for those with an interest in modern systems of utility installation and repair. UKSTT is an industry body that it is fundamental to maintaining standards in the rehabilitation and trenchless technology sector. Promoting quality and exacting standards in the rehabilitation marketplace. Lanes currently carry out in excess of £12m worth of rehabilitation work each year.

WJA (Water Jetting Association)

The Association of High Pressure Water Jetting Contractors seek the help of - and provide information to - Safety Officers from all over the country about the enormous benefits (and potential hazards) of High Pressure Water Jetting. Developments have seen that Training Courses are now accredited by the City & Guilds Institute. The Association also recognises and supports the CSCS or Construction Skills Certification Scheme - there is a route to CSCS Certification via the WJA Training Certificates and 'Industry Accreditation'. An industry organisation working towards maintaining standards in the drainage and wider jetting sector. Lanes are committed to continued membership of this organisation and recognise and endorse the good practise that is promoted through this organisation.
