Operation Stream Clean: do you have a misconnection?

A misconnection is when household appliances or bathrooms are connected to the wrong drain, usually to the surface water system instead of the foul water sewer network.

Hence initiatives like ‘Operation Stream Clean’, a joint venture between Wessex Water, Bristol City Council and the Environment Agency.

If your property has been identified as having a misconnection, you’ll know that it’s your responsibility to put it right within a specified time limit. If you don’t, you may face prosecution.

A team of drainage engineers from Lanes Group has carried out a pre-handover drainage survey at a £100 million distribution centre being built for one of the UK’s fastest-growing home and leisure retailers.

The Lanes Bristol depot was commissioned to carry out the pipe cleaning and CCTV drainage survey programme at The Range’s 1.2 million sq ft warehouse at Central Park, Avonmouth.
