CIPP Relining and Renovation
Renovation by relining
Our default approach in the majority of drain or sewer replacement cases. With ‘no dig’ or ‘trenchless’ technology, we can fully rehabilitate sewers and drains ranging from 225mm to 2500mm in diameter. For more localised repairs in shorter sections of drain, we may use patching. Either approach is as effective as the other, both in terms of how long the solution lasts, and the little disruption implementing it causes – it is simply a case of providing the most cost effective solution for your situation.
What is involved?
Also known as Cured-In-Place Piping (CIPP), no dig or trenchless relining involves inserting a liner layered with special resin into the vertical or horizontal sewer or drain no greater than 100mm in diameter. Once inside the pipe, the liner is turned inside out and forced through using either water or air pressure. The resin bonds to the inside of the pipe and then cures or hardens, restoring the integrity of the drain or sewer.
Once the CIPP liner has been installed any lateral connections can be robotically opened using one of the many robotic cutting units that Lanes has within our resources pool.
How much does this cost?
Our pricing is competitive across the board, and because each lining project is bespoke, decided by the condition and type of pipe in question along with a number of other factors, we can make sure that the final total is cost effective for your business and allocated budget.
How long will the replacement last?
We test our lining materials for a minimum of 1,000 hours to ensure that they meet WRc criteria, providing a 50-year design life, but with a safety factor of <2 equating to nearly 100 years’ life expectancy. For further reassurance, all of our installations are then verified by PDL (Pipeline Developments Limited).
What about vertical pipes or chutes?
Using the same no-dig technology, we carry out vertical pipe and refuse chute surveys and repairs on behalf of housing associations, landlords and property management companies. Once surveyed with CCTV camera equipment, we can then carry out repairs using ambient-cure CIPP techniques.
How can we be sure?
With 10 years of experience in this area, we are uniquely positioned in our field, not only comfortably capable of delivering our sewer renovation service and deploying innovative new materials along the way (such as UV liners that cure at a rate of a metre a minute), but of managing large scale projects without impacting or increasing the strain upon your day-to-day operations.
