At Lanes for Drains, we are dedicated to helping our communities become better educated about the most important topics that affect our environment and drainage infrastructure.
Because our sewers, drains, rivers, seas and oceans are not always visible, most people in the UK people cannot easily see the damage that is being caused underground and in our waterways. However, we know that children and teenagers are key to changing habits within society and raising awareness of troubling subjects.
That’s where we come in. We have worked closely with teachers at both primary and secondary schools to develop unique, informative and engaging teaching resources and lesson plans on the following topics:
- The dangers of fatbergs and the correct disposal of FOG (fats, oils and grease)
- The dangers of ‘hidden’ plastics in everyday items and how to dispose of them
