Lanes achieves Gold status with Constructionline

Lanes Group plc has achieved Gold membership with Constructionline, giving customers enhanced assurance about safety, quality, and environmental management standards.

The company, the UK’s largest independent drainage specialist, says achieving the enhanced membership reflected its determination to be a leader in its sector on quality, health, safety and environment.

Lanes Group Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Manager Paul McParland said: “With more than 10,000 decision-makers from more than 3,800 buying organisations using Constructionline to select suppliers, it is important that we engage effectively with the organisation.

“When Constructionline introduced its Silver, Gold, and Platinum membership scheme in 2017, we wanted to achieve an enhanced level that is most appropriate to the expectations of our key customers.

“Many leading construction companies are now stipulating Gold membership as the minimum standard required of their suppliers, so we were only to glad to seek and achieve that level of accreditation.”

To achieve Gold Membership, applicants must complete an extended verified pre-qualification questionnaire and its health and safety standards must meet the criteria of Constructionline’s Safety Systems in Procurement (SSIP) scheme.

Areas of business oversight covered include environmental management, quality management, equalities, and diversity. Lanes has provided additional evidence about its legal compliance in key areas such as modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption, and equal opportunities.

Paul McParland said: “By achieving Gold Membership, Lanes Group has demonstrated it has to buyers that our robust systems and processes have been subjected to increased scrutiny around governance and risk management.

“We are also very active in achieving a range of other quality standards expected by customers to allow us to operation in many sectors across the UK, including rail, energy generation, utilities and insurance.”

Lanes is also accredited under Safe Contractor, Constructing Better Health, CHAS, ACDC, Acclaim, Achilles Verify, Achilles UVDB, and RISQS Audit, among others. It also holds the RoSPA Gold Medal, having achieved a RoSPA Gold Award for occupational health and safety for nine consecutive years.
