Lanes Scoops Royal Mail Award

For the second year running, Lanes for Drains has won a Royal Mail Group Property Gold award for consistently outstanding performance.

In a ceremony held at the Royal Mail’s Phoenix Centre in January, Lanes picked up the trophy for its drainage services to a large number of Royal Mail properties, stretching from South Yorkshire up to Scotland and including Northern Ireland.

Account Manager Nicki Caven explained:

“We carry out planned maintenance programmes which may involve up to 4 visits a year, depending on the installation, wherever there are interceptors for fuel pumps, fuel islands and vehicle washing facilities. In most cases we operate 2 full service visits and 2 fuel island cleans.

“We also provide Royal Mail with a reactive service in case of emergencies such as blockages to the external drainage system or fuel spillages.”

The company won the contract for planned maintenance and reactive services to drainage systems across the Royal Mail’s Northern region in October 2005 for a 3-year period, with an option to extend for a further 2.

Speaking for Royal Mail, Head of FM Contracts, Ian Rodwell said:

“We set strict key performance indicators and Lanes achieved an average of over 90% overall. The Lanes’ team is very professional, from the call centre staff right through to the frontline technicians. It’s a smoothly run operation, but is also flexible and capable of reacting to clients’ needs without fuss.

“The award was well deserved.”
