UV CIPP Culvert Rehabilitation

Lanes Group plc, commissioned by AMCO, were asked to assess, reline and rehabilitate a culvert under the West Highland Line. the assessment concluded that ultraviolet (UV) light cured in place pipe (CIPP) lining was the best solution to achieve the 100-year design life, (a requirement of Network Rail) which meant a 16mm thickness of the new lining would be needed.

Thanks to the Ultraviolet lining technique used, the job was able to be carried out with minimal equipment, produces less hazardous waste and was deemed the most effective cured in pipe place (CIPP) method, for relining the culvert.
